Sorry. I'm a bad person.

It's been a long time (sorry) since I last updated (my bad), so I'll recap the last two weeks or so in a few sentences:

I went to the Jewish Museum of Australia, in scenic St. Kilda, last Monday to see the exhibit on Jews and comic art. It was pretty good, actually-- I expected at first another boring tribute to the oppression of my ancestors, but it was actually a great exhibit and a nice museum. The people there are very friendly, and I was surprised to learn that there wasn't nearly as much anti-Semitism in Australian history as there was in American (or European) history. Australian Jews have, overall, had it pretty good. Sweet!

This past week was Prosh week: an annual Melbourne Uni tradition of mayhem and usually-naked pranks. I didn't see much of it, actually. There was one prank pulled in my lecture where, I heard, someone stood up in the middle of it and shouted, "Did somebody say naked crowdsurfing??" and then some guy, naked, surfed the crowd of my lecture. I wasn't there. Ironically, I was at the Jewish Museum of Australia, doing research for the paper I'm about to write for this subject. FML.

But what else? I've planned my mid-semester break trip! Three days in Sydney, and then twelve in New Zealand, travelling all over the South Island. I'm mad stoked, yo. I bought my awesomely-low-budget-college-student travel backpack today for my trip; the conditions of my plane ticket are a) it's non-refundable, and b) I can't check any luggage. So I'm going to stuff as much as I can into the biggest backpack allowed in the given dimensions. Ta-da! All set!

There was another smoko a couple of weeks ago, themed "Rehab Rock-off." I went as Kurt Cobain/someone from the grunge period. Niiiiiceee. And this Wednesday there's going to be a cocktail party in the Upper Common Room-- very exclusive-- with a sliiiiight theme of "fantasy." I'm doing something with cat ears. Not quite sure what yet, but it'll either be Hermione after the mishap with the polyjuice potion or the Cheshire cat (I'm banking on the latter because Sara is going as Alice [in Wonderland]... but then, I could also go as Dinah...).

Pictures to come!
