Bad News Bears

It seems there's been… an accident with my camera. I left my USB cable back in New York (it's on its way here though) and ventured out into the beautiful city of Melbourne to look for a replacement. I had a whole bunch of new pictures that I wanted to post here and on Facebook to share with everyone. One of the student orientation week organisers recommended me a camera and technology store and I bought a card reader from them. When I tried to upload the pictures from my memory card onto the computer via card reader (and I have my settings on "delete after uploading") all the files it uploaded became corrupted. And then they were instantly deleted. Now my camera doesn't seem to recognise the card anymore. It's so weird. And very upsetting, because I lost about 125 pictures and haven't been able to take any new ones yet, at least not until I buy a new card. Though I'm going to ask them to replace it, because it was their card reader that damaged my card. *Grumble grumble.*

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, but they've been keeping us busy and on our toes this whole time! We've done so many fun things. Like I said last post they did take us to a footy game which was tremendously exciting, even though the bombers lost. But Carlton (my team) is playing Collingwood (their rival) tonight and I am barracking for them! Go navy blues!

I also learned how to play that day at a clinic, and by the end of the thing I was able to successfully kick the ball and bump it with my fist like they do in the professional games. Footy is so much cooler and more badass than American football, because they're not all covered in protective helmets and padding; they're right out there, tackling each other in all their hot footy player glory ;)

Let's see, what else? We've gone on a scavenger hunt around the city of Melbourne, we've played laser tag and gone bowling, I learned how to play "Guitar Hero" (and I love it!), and had an Italian-themed party in the clock tower of Ormond College, which is so beautiful. My room here is huge, with nice tall windows and lots of shelving. My bedding is meant for little boys and has trucks on it. Everyone thinks it's so cool though, and it was cheap for me, so everybody wins.

Tonight we're going out to dinner in Chinatown with the rest of the "freshers" from Ormond College. Did I mention how nice and friendly everyone is here? It's like a big family. You can sit down next to anyone at the Hogwarts-style dining hall for lunch or dinner and they won't look at you like they're wondering what you're doing there sitting next to them. And, best of all, no hipsters!

More updates to come and, hopefully, pictures as well.

Oh, Missy, I'm so sorry about your pictures :( On the bright side, you still have 4 and a half months to take more!! :D

Anywhoser, I'm so glad you're loving Aussieland. I love you and miss you so much, but I'm also really happy for you! Bill is coming to visit this weekend, I hope it's okay if he stays in your room! Sorry you had to miss him :\

Also I got another A+ in Psych! And we've been talking about mental disorders, so it appears that I have depression, bi-polar, OCD, Anxiety and Panic disorders. Hooray! Just kidding, it just makes me paranoid like whoa.

I sure do miss you though. Life is not the same without a twinner around. And those furry buddies at home miss you too.

I hope you have a fun weekend, and hey, do you start classes monday? If so, GOOD LUCK!!! AAHHHHH and ENJOY IT! <3 <3 <3

I love you more than life.

Love,
Twinner
